Aston Martin Bee Cuff
This variant is currently sold out
Our new Bee Cuff is made from metal taken from the hood of an Aston Martin Rapide S painted Onyx Black with a metallic finish. This elegant and distinctive car is the perfect landing place for our honey bee. We employed the ancient Korean technique called Keum-Boo whereby 24k gold pieces cut from gold sheets are applied to hot metals, in this case steel. We slowly heated the steel stamped bee and using agate burnishers, we carefully fused pieces of 24k gold sheet to the metal. Cold connections or rivets are used to attach the honey bee to the Aston Martin cuff as we cannot use a hot torch which would destroy the car's factory sparkly finish. Finally, using small burrs, we meticulously outlined the shape of the bee, scraping away paint to reveal the shiny aluminum underneath. The juxtaposition of silver, black steel, and bright gold creates a beautiful tableau for the relief-like two dimensional bee that seems to be rising from the cuff itself.
Taking car metal and turning it into beautiful jewelry is no easy task. Our artists spend a lot of time ensuring that each CRASH item meets our high standards for quality and design.
Inside the cuff is a laser-engraved CRASH tag and the name of the car it came from. All CRASH jewelry is one-of-a-kind and handmade in our studio based in a body shop in Los Angeles. Your order will arrive in custom CRASH packaging with a Certificate of Authenticity. 1 1/2" wide.
NOTE: Every cuff will be different in that the placement of gold will vary. This ensures that your cuff is truly one of a kind.
